Welcome to UKirk SC!
College is a time of exciting change and transition. While it can feel a bit overwhelming to acquaint yourself with a new schedule, new faces, and new expectations, we want you to know that UKirk is a place where you can show up and just be. Whether you have an abundance of faith or an abundance of questions (or both!), whether you’re a cradle Presbyterian or have never belonged to a faith community before, you are welcome here. No pretense, no expectations — just a group of people who want to talk about faith, be there for one another, and have some fun along the way.
Who are we?
We gather weekly at the UKirk Presbyterian (PCUSA) Student Center, 1702 Greene Street, about two and a half blocks from the middle of USC. At the Student Center you will find a place to eat, study (or not!), hang out, play pool, or simply catch up with old friends and make new friends. We have a lot of great activities happening each week: Worship at Shandon Presbyterian Church on Sundays at 10:30 am, Bible Study each Monday at 7 pm, and UKirk Wednesdays each Wednesday at 6:30 pm. We also have lots of weekend service and fellowship events throughout the year.
What is our mission?
To witness to the good news of God’s love in Jesus Christ to the higher education community of Columbia by inviting, equipping, and challenging students, faculty, and staff to respond to the call of the Holy Spirit and to grow in faith and discipleship.
